Bespoke commissions are accepted throughout the year. Pattern, form, palette and scale are chosen in conversation with Li Wenxian and the workshop. Each piece is signed by the maker before it leaves the studio.

The commissioning process is hands-on. Each step is a conversation — about pattern, form, scale, palette, firing, and the moment you receive the finished piece.
Discuss & place order
Outline your requirements — colour, pattern, characteristics, intended use.
Confirmation & deposit
We confirm the order and you place a deposit to secure the manufacturing slot.
Clay & cane work
Making the clays, hand-making the jiaotai marbling and patterns for your design.
Forming the design
Forming the patterns into moulds and formers, then assembly. Drying period follows.
Firing & coating
The piece is fired in the shuttle kiln and the surface coating applied.
Quality control & sign-off
Final inspection and personal sign-off from Li Wenxian.
Boxing & shipping
Custom packaging and international shipping arranged to your address.
