The Catalogue

Ready to ship, and made to order.

A small selection of pieces from the workshop — each one unique. Pieces marked “Available” can be reserved now; “Made to order” pieces begin with an enquiry.

Vase

8 pieces in this form

Tall cylindrical vessels in jiaotai porcelain. Each carries a different cane pattern — from the painterly Tree Pattern to the classical Feather plume — but the form is consistent: flared lip, narrow waist, broad shoulder. Made to order in conversation with the workshop.

Teapot

6 pieces in this form

Single teapots and teapot pairs in marbled cane porcelain. The forms range from small pouring pots with cane-wrapped bodies to blue-and-white reading pairs. Made to order, four to six months.

Tea Set茶具

1 piece in this form

Multi-piece tea sets — small cups and a serving vessel, sized for gongfu tea or sake. Each set reads as a single composition across all pieces.

Cup Set

1 piece in this form

Sets of handleless cups for tea, sake, or water. Each cup in the set is a different combination of the workshop’s signature cane work.

Flask

1 piece in this form

Two-handled flasks with cane surface decoration. The handles are themselves sculptural — often dragon-form — and continue the marbled pattern into the body of the piece.

Sculpture

4 pieces in this form

Sculptural forms built up from multiple coloured clay bodies, twisted into a cane, sliced, and reassembled over the form. The Pixiu, a mythical winged lion and an auspicious symbol in Chinese tradition, is the most-requested of the sculptural pieces.
